Green Heart Inc. was born out of love, resilience, and the enduring legacy of a remarkable woman who continues to inspire us every day. This nonprofit is dedicated to honoring Lenora Green, a mother whose unwavering strength and love remain at the heart of everything we do.
Mission
For four long years, Lenora bravely fought colon cancer with grace and determination, all while being the glue that held our family together. Despite her battle, she never let her illness define her spirit, always putting her children and loved ones first. In her final chapter, she left behind her youngest daughter, Aalyiah Douglas, who was just an eighth grader at the time. Experiencing such a profound loss as a minor made Aalyiah’s journey uniquely challenging, shaping her into the compassionate leader she is today as our president. As her older sister, I was thrust into a role I never expected—providing guidance and support while grappling with my own grief. Navigating this loss alongside my dad, we faced the overwhelming task of rebuilding our lives. Yet, through it all, my mom’s love and strength have remained with us, inspiring Green Heart Inc.’s mission to help families like ours find hope and healing after loss
